Summer is here already and life has been moving right along. We just celebrated Miss Haylie turning 18 months old on the 12th with a sweet little tea party. Last week we started Mommy-and-Me gymnastics and so far she loves it. Daddy came too this week and she wouldn't participate without him! We are still learning to follow directions, but for the most part she does great. We will be going every Wednesday for the rest of the summer as long as she keeps enjoying it.
The 4th of July was a busy week with the kiddie parade, footrace, grand parade, and a small BBQ, all topped off with a great fireworks show by our neighbors. It really was a great week. Haylie did so great in her kiddie parade. I made her a skirt and sash, and she waved a little flag. She waited patiently for almost an hour in the hot sun while we waited to go and she didn't even whine. She makes her momma so proud! The 5th was also a great day with Haylie's Pappa turning 49 and celebrating with him. We picked cherries, played in the creek, and of course, saw the cows. They seem to be a favorite of Haylie's. If you ask her where the cows live she will tell you, "Pappa's, Moo."

On Memorial day weekend we had our first family camping trip to Skagit River Woods. Jonny's family owns a spot there and after a few days of some much needed clean up on our part it was ready for us! Haylie did great! She seemed to love being outdoors the whole time and even slept well in the tent. She is too little for the pool still but had fun playing on the playground and taking walks with us around the sites. Angela also made an exciting surprise appearance for the weekend so we were able to visit with her for a little while too. My dad and Debbie joined us for smores the second night and overall the trip was a great experience that we are looking forward to having again soon.
Haylie was not very sure about the smores when she tried them for the first time. She enjoyed pulling the marshmallow and eating the yummy chocolate! Organic of course!
Swimwear for toddlers has to be one of the cutest things ever! A ruffle bum, matching aqua socks for her feet, sunscreen, and we were ready for the river! We walked along the shore a bit and the water was freezing! Haylie wanted to play in it anyway. She's a true upriver gal at heart.
